On the 20th of aug Songs of Boda s fourth album Garland will be released. It’s a yearbook of a lost year tied together by eight songs. Record label Adore music asked musician, colleague and friend Emil Carlsson rinstad to describe the artist and the new album.

”Songs of Boda is a real friend. The kind that dares to
meet you in your darkest hour and still see the joke of it
all. Makes you feel ok. The kind that will stay with you after
that demanding meeting with your boss and will be strong
enough to face weaknesess, his own and yours. He ll put
you in a hot car, crank the stereo up and confidently roll
towards the sun. No stress and without choking it all with
too much expectations.

Songs of Boda is trying to live and to enjoy it. Because we
can and we probably won’t solve all the other things
anyways. Might as well try to make it worth while. Learn
and roll on. That Daniel Boda Skoglund cares about the
great life issues is reflected clearly in his lyrics and music.
With a background as musician with Daniel Norgren,
Rambling Nicholas Heron and such, Boda has as a solo
artist began spreading his wings more and more. With a
growing audience and three albums behind him (Loophole
2015, Iago 2018 & Meanwhiling 2019) Garland shows him
in an even bigger glory than before.

Garland is very much ”americana” yet obviously Swedish.
Vintage guitars and wobbly synths, lazy snare drums and
million dollar harmonies. Simple chords with smartly
carved arrangements. Boda knows his genre and knows all
about Hiss Golden Messenger, A.A Bondy and Moondog
but still dares to be as direct in his songwriting as Paul
Simon and McCartney. It is virtuous when suitable. Skew
and gnawing when needed.
