Songs of Boda is the musical platform for singer-songwriter Daniel Skoglund. He began playing guitar at the age of nine and music was then forever on his mind. Songwriting has been a part of Skoglunds creativity since early on but much time has been spent on being a musician with various Swedish acts like Daniel Norgren, Rambling Nicholas Heron, Anders Enda Barnet and more.

But then, a few years ago, he began making room for his own compositions under the name of Songs of Boda. (The name hails from the part of Borås where he grew up in) and first EP ”Loophole” was released in 2015 (By Heart Rec). The song ”Where My Hands might Go” gained good numbers and in 2015 Songs of Boda acted as support on Daniel Norgrens Scandinavian tour.

Now full length album ”Iago” is being released on Swedish Indie label Adore Music.

”Its an album that takes off where last EP ended. It´s still highly personal and of course a way for me to express my perspective on things.”
The name ”Iago” is a wordplay on the swedish word for ”I” and ”ego”, and not so much the Shakespearean character.

”Writing and performing music is very much about fulfilling yourself and feeding your ego. Sounds bad, but on the other hand it´s also sharing. Maybe some will understand and make something out of it.”

The sound is rather shifting on ”Iago” and Skoglund decided early on to let the songs be diffrent from each other. Its all connected by his voice and guitars and for those familiar with ”Loophole” will recognize the spaciouofirst single ”Hardball”. But there´s also a more acoustical and intimate side this time like songs ”Let It Rain” and the title track ”Iago”.

Band member has more or less since the start consisted of, besides Boda himself, drummer Emil Brandqvist (Emil Brandqvist Trio), synth player and background singer Gustav Svedung (Gus By Heart) and again Anders Grahn (Daniel Norgren) and so on this record, with a few additional guests.

Iago is released the 9th of March.
